Avalanche Site Near Portage Glacier
Along the Seward Highway near Portage Glacier, there was an avalanche that had crossed over the road and took out some of the guard rail. By the time I was driving through, the road had been cleared but you could see some of the damage.

Look how high they had to dig to get the area clear so we could drive through again.

I'm checking out the chute where the avalanche came down. Boy oh boy. It really made a mess of things.

The guardrail here is all busted up. As you can see, the force of this thing is pretty powerful. Snow and ice are pretty heavy, and dangerous.

Another busted up guardrail, and ME! Me me me! I love me so much. Meeeee me me me me me me me.

Holy guacamole! What's this? A tree? No sir, not anymore. Looks more like a big pile of splinters now. I'll call my carpenter friend over to have this all fixed up.

The destructive force from these things is amazing, and totally awesome. Next time It happens I'm gonna get a snowboard and just ride it through. Oh yeah baby!
