Alces in Palmer, Alaska

As soon as I got
here, I was greeted by a sign. "Alaska at its best." HA! These people never seen my pad.

Palmer, Alaska was originally a train station on a rail line which served several coal mines in the area. The No. 5 locomotive has been downtown for years. Boy is it slow.

For some reason, I have this incredible urge to run in front of fast moving vehicles. Must be instinct.

Here I am at the Palmer Public Library, but who can read when you're in such an awesome town?

Here is the famous Palmer Water Tower. They should put iced tea mix in there so it would be a Tea Tower. Extra aspartame for me please.

What a great adventure I had today. Time to hop back on the No. 5 train. I'll be back next month for the
state fair.
