Kenai River
I recently went for a float on the upper Kenai River to do some sockeye salmon fishing around the Russian River. I wore my favorite blue sweater and caught a fish!
I was the first one in the boat at Cooper Landing, pole in hand. Ready for some fishing in the Kenai River.
This was my view from the driftboat we took. There are no motors allowed on this part of the Kenai, so my friend used oars to steer us through the scary spots. (Don't worry I can swim)
Here is a prime example of the infamous combat fishing that takes place here every sockeye salmon run. Lines tend to tangle and space disappears, but everyone was considerate and friendly (ie, everyone was catching fish).
Look at the fish I caught! It may look small, but it was a fighter.
There was lots of wildlife along the river, including ducklings and eagles and bears, oh my!
Its nice to be back on land, and time to find a........ oh, there it is. My, what a helpful sign.
