Wasilla, Alaska
Wasilla is the 5th largest city in Alaska. It was named after Chief Wasilla of the Dena'ina Alaska Native tribe. It was founded in 1907 at the Alaska Railroad Depot and Old Carle Wagon Road.
My father, Jack Jefford lived in Wasilla until his death in 1979. Wasilla was where I first learned how to water ski, sail and swim. In 1999, I purchased a home on the lake and moved back to my childhood play area.
